My all time favorite Christmas decoration. A man in Alabama made these santa's for all of us. The neclace and pin on his bag were my grandmother and great grandmother's jewelery. The white underlay under his coat was from one of my grandmother's aprons. The jacket is made from one of my grandmother's jackets.

Well Christmas is definately my favorite time of the year! I love getting the house decorated. I decorate almost every room which drives Rusty crazy. He asked me exactly how many trees I thought our house needed (Hey we only have 4!) Sagen was such a big help this year. When we put out our Christmas village she thought she needed to accessorize it with her little people barn animals. It was pretty funny. Christmas would be perfect if I could see all my family in Georgia...can't wait for summer!

Well it has been a while since I was able to post last. We had a great Thanksgiving and I hope everyone else did too! It was a sad Thanksgiving because it was the first one I have ever spent without my mom. She went to Georgia to spend Thanksgiving with my grandmother (which is where she needed to be), but it wasn't the same without her. We had Thanksgiving at my house and my sister and I cooked the Thanksgiving lunch. We didn't do the traditional turkey and dressing, but it was still really good. We had ham, rice dressing, corn, hashbrown casserole, macaroni pie, and lots of sweets and desserts. After that we went to Rusty's grandparents house to spend Thanksgiving evening with his family. That night I was really bummed because I didn't think I was going to get to go black Friday shopping since my shopping buddy was 1200 miles away....but....



I had this wonderful idea to call "aunt" Debbie to see if she wanted to embark on the Black Friday madness with me. It is a family tradition that we shop on black Friday...and I do mean shop! Its usually me, my mom, sister, friend Kassadie, and Debbie. Debbie was game to go shopping with me and we got an early start! I actually started on Thursday night about 10 oclock. I went to Wal Mart and got a game plan then went back at midnight to snag the toy deals that started at 12:01. Then I went home (about 1:30 due to the crowd) and headed back out at 4 am to Brownfield Wal Mart with Debbie and my dad. After we hit up the electronic sales we headed to Lubbock to go to Toys R Us and the Mall. We had a great time and I got almost all of my shopping done! Keep in mind that I have to shop for Christmas and birthday! (Sagen's birthday is 10 days after Christmas!)



Rusty had a young lady qualify for state FFA creed speaking which takes place in Huntsville, TX (about 10 hours away). He had to take a female sponsor so I volunteered to go along. We were planning on just hauling the kids with us, but Aunt Jana stepped up and offered to keep them! (Thanks Aunt Jana!) We kidded her that her house would be like the Brady Bunch with 3 girls and 3 boys. Sagen and Slayde had so much fun over there. They said that Slayde never cried and slept all night in Jett's baby bed (he doesn't use it!) and Sagen and Jack really bonded. Jessica told me that she was watching them one afternoon and they were playing football. Jack had taken off his shirt (that's the cool thing...) so of course Sagen thought...why not, I'll take mine off too. Jessica said they were both playing football without their shirts on. Haha! Just wait until she gets older....she would die! When we got home from Huntsville we were so glad to see both kids. Slayde was attached to me like a magnet. He wouldn't go to ANYONE else and even cried when Rusty took him from me. He's definitely a momma's boy, but I love it! Well I know this has been a LONG post. Here are a few pictures!

Well this weekend we had fun at the Extreme Home Makeover site in Wellman, TX. They are making over the house of Jeanne and Johnny Mac Brown after they lost their daughter, Alex due to texting and driving. We were suppose to work on the house on Tuesday, but we had UIL so we went this weekend as spectators. We got to go to the VIP tent (thanks nana and opey!) where Sagen got to sign the banner that will be given to the family. On the bus ride back we talked to one of the designers and they asked us to come back last night and we could help hang blinds and curtains because they were short handed...but of course we couldn't find a sitter. shocker huh... It made me sad that we didn't get to help out...since it was a once and a lifetime opportunity, but thats the story of our life lol...We got to see Ty Pennington, Michael Moloney, LeAnne Touey, Emma Roberts, and Paige from a distance. It was really cool. I talked to the builders wife while we were in the tent...she was really nice. Check out our pictures. At the end Michael Moloney yelled out "is it always this windy???" and we all said yes! Then he said "God bless you people!"

OK, I know its a bit early but Christmas is coming up soon! And what better way to get in the mood than seeing Santa? My mom use to take me and my sister to see Santa opening weekend at Holland Gardens every year...and I am going to try to continue that tradition with my kids. They couldn't believe all of the gorgeous Christmas trees! Sagen loved the pink barbie one. They both got to see Santa by themselves and then together. There really wasn't a long line...and I must say...their Santa really looked real (as opposed to the one in the mall!) We had a great day in Lubbock shopping and hanging out with Nana and aunt deb. Well we had a busy Halloween week! On Saturday we had the Fall Fling at our school. The kids had a ton of fun playing games and winning prizes. Sagen's Jessie pumpkin brought home a blue ribbon! Then on Wednesday we had our Fall Festival at our church. The kids had a blast bobbing for apples and running in the sack race! Slayde's other baby friends were there...they were all so cute! On Sunday we went trick or treating in Welch and then let Sagen hand out candy. She enjoyed that as much as getting candy! She didn't want to go to bed because she was certain there would be more trick or treaters...at 9:00 I convinced her that the trick or treaters had all gone to bed too!

Last Friday we had "little cheer camp" at Dawson. Of course Sagen was all into that! She learned several cute cheers and a dance and performed at the pep rally and at half time of the New Home football game.
