Slayde's 6 month checkup

Well today Slayde had his 6 month doctor checkup and all was good. She wasn't concerned that my lazy boy isn't sitting or showing any interest whatsoever in becoming mobile! Here are his stats:
Weight: 16lb 12 oz (40th percentile)
Height: 26.5 inches (60th percentile)
Head: 17.4 inches (75th percentile)
I know, I was shocked that he is only in the 40th percentile in the weight department. I felt sure that he must be off the charts! He has my thunder thighs! haha. Dr. G also recommended that all the adults around him get the Pertusis Vaccine. Even though he is vaccinated she said he can still get whooping cough, just not as bad as a baby that isn't vaccinated. So that will be what Rusty and I are doing on Monday...he just doesn't know yet!

So far Sagen LOVES school! She has learned to not throw rocks down the slide haha. She told me tomorrow she feels certain she will learn to read! She is so cute and pops up every morning putting on her clothes ready to go to school. I'm sure in about 10 or so years I will be having to threaten her to get ready for school...when do they lose that eagerness?! ha! I'll post some pictures from meet the Dragons later! hope every body is well!

First Day of School!

It makes me both excited and sad to say that my baby has grown up. This morning was her first day of pre-k. Anyone that has talked to her in the past few days knows how excited she has been! She has been counting down all week long. She didn't cry or anything when we left her. I am looking forward to an awesome year!

A little whip cream anyone?

The other day at lunch Slayde was getting fussy while we were trying to eat lunch so I gave him a spoonfull of whip cream. He went to town on it for about 10 minutes! He was covered from head to toe in whip cream so I had to get some pictures! After that it was straight in the bath for him!

Fun at Nanas

We all went to visit Nanas because it has been so long since we have all seen each other. The kids had a picnic at Nanas and then we made peach cobbler for dessert. We leave Sunday to go to Corpus Christi for the state FFA convention. Sagen can't wait to go to the beach!

4th of July

Well the 4th of July here was a wet one. Over the two day weekend we got around 10 inches of rain! They canceled the firework show in Lamesa, so we settled on going to the drive in movie to see Karate Kid. Saturday we went to Rusty's family's house and cooked out. It was a fun weekend!

Fathers Day

We had a wonderful Father's Day. We went to Rusty's family's house on Saturday and ate a wonderful dinner. The kids got Rusty an air compressor so he was pretty excited. On Sunday we went to church then went to my family's house for lunch. Bruce cooked out steaks and they were wonderful! It was a great day.

Saddle Ridge Ranch

Well, after we got back from Georgia we were in full gear again! Busy busy busy. Our church had VBS (saddle ridge ranch) The kids had a ton of fun! I was the leader for the pre-k and am beginning to think I must have lost my mind. I won't be doing it again next year lol! We had around 24 little 4 year olds. Thank goodness I had Robbie to help me out! The night of family night they needed someone to come sing the theme song and Sagen did it all by herself. She used the microphone and everything! I don't know where she gets her braveness from! I would have been way too shy! While we were decorating for VBS to start, Rusty and Levi babysat the kids. Rusty took a really cute picture of Slayde with Tripp. I can predict trouble in years to come! lol
