fun with cousins!

Blowing out her candles even though it wasn't her birthday

Annoying her big cousin, Jackson. Doesn't he look thrilled! haha

Well this week was fairly uneventful. Slayde is still colicy and not a "fun" baby right now. I keep telling myself it won't be this way for long! He is great when he doesn't have gas but almost every evening like clock work he starts fussing and screaming at around 8 until abuot 2 in the morning. I'm taking any suggestions on what to do for colic if you have any! Thursday Sagen got her hair cut at the beauty shop for the first time ever. She was very nervous but she did good. We cut about 3 inches off and she looks so much older! The next morning when she woke up she ran to the mirror to make sure her hair was still cut! it was pretty cute. Sagen had a slumber party with Kamryn, Casen, and Keatyn on Friday night. They got a duck for Easter and Sagen had to see it. Saturday afternoon we had Brittney and Jackson's birthday parties at Burt and Maryetta's house. Sagen had fun playing and even had to blow out her own candles. She was convinced it was her birthday too! Here are a few pictures!

Daddy's home!

being silly playing dress up

Sagen and Keat. The older they get the more fun they have playing! I'm sure they will be really close in junior high/high school!

Even Jess can play in the box!

Daddy got home from Houston and had to catch up on some quality nap time with Slayde!

Well Rusty made it in from Houston on Monday and we have been enjoying a relaxing Spring Break. We really haven't done anything fun~the weather has been absolutely crazy! One day it is 70 and today the high is 34! We got a new dishwasher over the break. Who would have thought that Sagen would have so much fun in the box! My mom and sister came over on Friday to see Sagen and Slayde. Sagen really enjoyed playing with Keatyn. Jessica also came over and played with Sagen one night. Sagen has started feeling left out so this really helps her out (and gives me a break!) On Thursday night we took Slayde out for his first outing. We went to Midland and ate and went to Target. He was an absolute angel and slept the whole time we ate. He got a little fussy at Target but nothing too bad. Here are a few pictures! Hope you enjoy

Spring Break!

Wide Eyed!

Yes, he still has some crazy hair!

He is really starting to develop a personality!

Well tomorrow officially starts Spring Break and I know most people are excited to be out of school for a week. I am excited but sad at the same time because it means that we are getting closer to when I have to go back to work. I hate to leave Slayde and have someone else raise my children, but I trust my babysitter and that is worth a lot! Since last Sunday we have been staying at my parent's house in Brownfield while Rusty has been in Houston. It has been an eventful week! I started out the week sick but feel much better. We took Sagen and Slayde to the Dr. on Tuesday because I thought Slayde was getting stuffy. Friday night Sagen started screaming and crying in her sleep. She said that her ear hurt so bad. She hadn't complained about it all day long so I didn't take her to the doctor. The first thing Saturday morning, my mom took her to the doctor here in Brownfield. She did have an ear infection and the doctor gave her an antibiotic and some ear drops. Saturday night I had put Sagen to bed and after about 30 minutes she came into the play room saying that she was itching. I took her pajamas off and she was covered in little red bumps. I called the pharmacist and the on-call nurse at my pediatrician and they think that she was having an allergic reaction to the antibiotic. Talk about stress! I gave her benadryl and put some cream on the bumps and sent her back to bed. The good thing is that Sunday morning the bumps were gone. I am going to call her doctor tomorrow to ask about switching her antibiotic. I didn't give it to her today. Also, Slayde likes to sleep until 4 in the morning and then he's up. So to put it mildly...I'm ready for Rusty to be home! My parents have been a huge help and the kids have really enjoyed being here. The best news is that he will be home tomorrow! Here are a few pictures from our week in Brownfield.

Doctor Visit

Well today I took Slayde to the doctor. I am the type of mom that if I have any doubt I would just assume take him to the doctor to have some peace of mind. He kinda sounded stuffy to me when he was nursing and he is very gassy. The doctor assured me that this was totally normal and he doesn't have colic, he is just a gassy baby. She did give me a prescription for some gas relief drops because I told her that the Mylicon were doing absolutely nothing to help Slayde. The one thing that I couldn't believe was that he weighed 9 lbs! He has grown over 1 and 1/2 pounds in 2 weeks. That shocked me! I guess since I see him everyday I didn't notice how big he has gotten. So overall great doctor visit...Slayde isn't sick and he has grown!

Can't believe Slayde is 1 month old!

We stayed at my parents house while Rusty was at the stockshow. They were a big help helping me with Sagen and Slayde. Here is Sagen and Opey coloring.

I love this picture!

So tired after a bath. He is not a fan of his bath at the moment! He screamed until he was pooped!

I was trying to get birth announcement pictures (disaster!) I thought this was cute of the two of them.

Almost a smile. His birth marks on his face are starting to fade. Isn't he adorable!
Sagen is the best big sister! Here she is reading him "purplicios." It is so cute!
I can't believe that tomorrow Slayde will be 1 month old! Time really does fly by. It makes me sad to think that I will have to go back to work shortly...but it won't be long until Summer time. Overall, Slayde is a really good baby. He only cries when he has gas pains. During the night he wakes up to eat and then goes back to sleep. One night he even slept 5 hours and we were so excited (it only happened once though!) He is very calm and is becoming more aware of his surroundings. He likes to stare at the lights and at things around him. Sagen entertains him all the time! I go back to the doctor on the 24th of this month. I will be curious to see how my blood pressure is. I am not allowed to take it any more at home because I was driving myself crazy and causing it to rise. People ask me how it is and I just tell them I have no clue! I know its come down some because my headaches aren't as bad! Also my back pain is a lot better. Here are a few pictures, I hope everyone enjoys!
