Big News!

Well, some of yall caught it on the last posting, but if you didn't...we have a huge surprise! We are having another baby! We are all so excited by this unexpected blessing. It was a shock to us but God has his own way of planning your life! This pregnancy has been so different than when I was pregnant with Sagen. Currently, I am 7 weeks and it is due on February 22 (yes, for those of you who are doing the math...this miracle was made around the time of our anniversary, June 1! What a wonderful anniversary present!) For those of yall who don't know this has been how the pregnancy is going so far:
*I found out I was pregnant the first day of VBS and started spotting that night, I called my doctor the next day and he told me to come right in for blood work. The blood work confirmed I was indeed pregnant but the numbers were extremely low. The HCG was 200 and the progestrone (the hormone that keeps you pregnant) was only a 12. If it doesn't stay about a 20 you will lose the baby.
*They immediately placed me on hormones to try to raise my progestrone number. Two days later my numbers were looking better. (HCG had doubled and the progestrone was going up to a 17.)
* I started spotting again, and two days later went back and my progestrone had started going down again (a 16 this time). They decided to double the dose of my hormone pills.
*The following Monday I went back to the doctor and my levels had all rose and started looking good (my progestrone was a 22 which is good!) Of course...two days later I started spotting AGAIN!
*Two days later more blood to check again and my progestrone went back down to a 16. They didn't know why my levels were still going down with me being on such strong hormones. They decided to do an emergency sonogram the next morning (Thursday) to see what was happening.
*At the sonogram they saw that the baby was in my uterus (Thank God! They were thinking it was etopic) and they did see a heart beat! It was the best news I had heard in a LONG time! They also found the cause of all my problems...
*I have a large cyst on my right ovary. They said that it is causing the diminishing of my hormone levels and all of the pain i've been in. They are going to keep a close eye on it but there is nothing they can do for it right now. It shouldn't hurt the baby if I can only stay pregnant!

Well, between the constant pain from the cyst and the undescribable sickness from the added hormones this pregnancy has been quite different from the uneventful one I had with Sagen. Rusty and I were going to try to get pregnant during August so we could have a baby in May, but God had his own plans! One of my friends told me it was probably best I got pregnant when I did so I could get over this horrible feeling before school starts! I go back to the doctor on Tuesday...Will keep everyone informed on how that goes! Keep us in your prayers!
