Slayde Elijah Oaks is here!

Had to fully show off the "Fro"

This was us leaving the hospital.

Slayde's great grandmother made him the booties. She has made them for all her great grands. Rusty said I was trying to make him look like a chef. I think he looks adorable!

Three generations of "Elijah". Elijah Monroe (my grand dad), Ronald Elijah (my dad) and Slayde Elijah. Also my grandmother and Sagen.

checking him out. I love the way the sun highlights them!

Sagen getting to meet her baby brother for the first time.

I just love this picture. He is two days old here.

Well after a rough few weeks I am finally getting around to posting some updates on my blog. Bare with me...this might be a long post!
It all started Monday on the 8th when I went to the Dr. for our last Dr. visit. At the visit my blood pressure was really high but they told me to watch it until Friday. I borrowed a blood pressure machine and Tuesday morning it was way high and rising. I called the Dr. and the told me to come in so they could take it. I called Rusty at school and he came home to take me to the Dr. Thank goodness we took our bags! While at the Dr. my blood pressure was really high so they said, "We will just do this today at 3:00! Be at the hospital by 12:30!" I was really upset because my parents were in Last Vegas and I really wanted them there. After having an emotional breakdown I realized that yes I could do this! I survived the IV (which was what I was the most scared of). Slayde was born at 3:31. He was a pretty big baby with a head FULL of hair! He weighed 7 lbs 8 oz and was 20.5 inches long. No wonder I was so miserable the last few weeks! He was stuffed in me like a ball.
They ended up having to keep me in the hospital two extra days because they couldn't get my blood pressure regulated. I got to come home on Valentines day (what a treat!) Slayde is a pretty good baby. He wakes up at night to eat and then goes right back to sleep.
Sagen loves him and is a "big" help. Sometimes too much help if you can imagine!
My blood pressure still isn't normal. We went back to my Dr. on Friday and they added a blood pressure patch to my blood pressure pills. Hopefully with the two they can get my blood pressure to regulate. Also I have been having these sharp pains where they did my spinal during the c-section. If I move a certain way its like a knife going through me all the way up to the back of my head. I have never felt pain like that! They think that the anesthesiologist nicked a nerve in my back during the spinal. They are hoping that it will heal within 3 weeks. If not they want me to go back to him for a consult. So keep us in your prayers. It has been a rocky start but I know we are SO lucky. We have a perfect baby and have been blessed by God in so many ways. In the big picture our problems are minor. Thank God for his many miracles! Enjoy a few pictures!
